I create hand-drawn studies of place, combining traditional pencil work with digital colour to document locations, objects, and moments encountered through travel.

MY STORY

A practice rooted in travel, observation,

and the quiet documentation of place.

I am an Italian-Scottish designer and artist, raised between two cultures that continue to shape how I see and document the world.

I began drawing when I was 3 and never stopped. I started selling my first works as a teenager before shifting my focus toward a career in design, and most recently teaching as a professor. While that path developed my visual thinking, drawing has remained a constant point of return. I have now reignited the committment to this practice, using illustration as a way to document places, experiences, and moments encountered through travel.

My work combines traditional and digital pencil drawing with digital watercolour and subtle graphic elements to construct detailed studies of place. Each piece begins as an observational drawing, later developed digitally to explore light, atmosphere, and composition.

The coastal village of Cetara on the Amalfi Coast is central to my work. Having grown up connected to this place, I continue to return to it as a source of visual and cultural reference. The colours, patterns, and decorative traditions of local ceramics have strongly influenced my visual language, shaping both palette and mark-making.

Everyday scenes, harbours, balconies, food, and small objects, become recurring subjects, observed and reinterpreted through drawing, forming an ongoing record of place, memory, and atmosphere.
